A dream come true – it’s the brand new EuroVelo Route Planning Tool to help you organize your future cycling trips along the EuroVelo routes.
EuroVelo connects Europe by bicycle.
EuroVelo aims to design a comprehensive cycling network that interconnects European countries, to document existing or create new bicycle-friendly routes, and to integrate them into a registered and unified European network. Currently, this network comprises over 45,000 kilometers of cycling routes, with thousands of additional kilometers planned to be added. When completed, it is estimated to exceed 70,000 kilometers.
The officially signposted EuroVelo network can be found today in countries such as Austria, France, Germany, Hungary, Serbia, Slovakia, Switzerland, the United Kingdom, the Czech Republic, Portugal, Spain, Italy, and others. The international status governing these routes facilitates their maintenance and expansion through financial and political support at a cross-border level.
The goals of the European Cyclists’ Federation through EuroVelo are twofold:
Firstly, to ensure a unified European network of high-quality cycling routes, connecting the countries of Europe safely, in order to encourage citizens to use a healthy mode of transportation, such as cycling, in their daily lives and travels. Secondly, to inform decision-makers about the existence of these routes, encouraging their use by as many users as possible to strengthen the relevant market sectors.
