Due to a serious accident (overturning and explosion of a tanker truck) and the mandatory demolition of the severely damaged bridge after the Isthmus of Corinth, traffic on the Athens-Corinth National Road has been suspended from the Peloponnese to Athens and vice versa since June 7, 2024. It is recommended to use the Suburban Railway from Corinth station to Agioi Theodoroi station and vice versa.

Για πρώτη φορά στην Ελλάδα διοργανώνεται μία ημερίδα αποκλειστικά για τον ποδηλατικό τουρισμό που τόσο συχνά πλέον ακούμε στη δημόσια συζήτηση.
The first meeting of the National EuroVelo Coordination Center in Greece took place, attended by the Deputy Minister of Infrastructure and Transport responsible for Transport, Christina Alexopoulou, the Deputy Minister of Tourism, Elena Rapti, the Vice President of the Central Union of Municipalities of Greece (ΚΕΔΕ), Dimitris Karnavos, and the Director of the NGO “Cities for Cycling,” Spyros Papageorgiou. We are very pleased to share the happy news from this year’s EuroVelo General Meeting (EVGM) that Greece has become the 23rd country to join the network of NECC/Cs.
The end of the year is fast approaching, which provides a good opportunity to look back over what has been a difficult but successful year for EuroVelo. The adoption of the new long-term EuroVelo Strategy, cycle tourism reacting to the COVID-19 pandemic and a brand new route joining the EuroVelo network were some of the highlights but read on to see EuroVelo’s year in review.
You are invited to the first presentation of Eurovelo organized by the Region of Central Greece and the National Coordinator of Eurovelo in Greece on the topic: “Eurovelo – Sustainable Development and Tourism” on Monday, July 22, 2019, at 13:00, at the Conference Room of the Regional Council of the Regional Unit of Evia in Chalkida.
Following a seven-month application process, EuroVelo 13 – Iron Curtain Trail has joined the list of 38 Cultural Routes of the Council of Europe. This is the first time that an entire EuroVelo route has been recognised in this way!
