TrainOSE SA is the main provider (until now the only one) of rail transport for passengers and freight in Greece. Trains of TRAINOSE SA serve thousands of citizens who wish to travel all over the country, as well as in urban centers daily. The headquarters of TRAINOSE SA is in Athens, but the company maintains offices and operates across the geographic territory near its network.

Connecting major urban centers to the suburbs, through frequent services and affordable prices, TRAINOSE’s suburban services cater to the needs of a large number of passengers, while contributing to the decentralization and decongestion of automobile traffic. Today TRAINOSE runs the following suburban services: Suburban Railway of Athens Suburban Railway of Thessaloniki Suburban Railway of Patras

• Athens Metro
The Athens Metro is a rapid-transit system in Greece which serves the Athens conurbation, parts of East Attica and connects the city of Athens with the International Airport of Athens, located in Spata (Mesogeia, East Attica). The Athens Metro is actively connected with other means of public transport, such as buses, trolleys, the Athens Tram and the Suburban railway. The Athens Metro is hailed for its modernity and many of its stations feature works of art, exhibitions and displays of the archaeological remains found during its construction.

• Athens Tram
The Athens Tram is the modern public tram network system serving Athens, Greece. It is now owned and operated by Urban Rail Transport (STASY) S.A. The tram network spans a total length of 27 kilometres (16.8 mi), and covers ten Athenian suburbs. This network runs from Syntagma Square to the southwestern suburb of Palaio Faliro, where the line splits in two branches; the first runs along the Athens coastline toward the southern suburb of Voula, while the other heads toward the Piraeus district of Neo Faliro. The network covers the majority of the city’s Saronic Gulf coastline.
