• Thessaloniki Airport «Makedonia» Thessaloniki Airport «Makedonia» is located 13 km/ 8.1 mi south of the White Tower of Thessaloniki. It is the third-largest airport in the country after Athens International Airport and Heraklion International Airport in Crete. It is the main airport of Northern Greece and serves the city of Thessaloniki (the second-largest city in Greece), the popular tourist destination of Chalkidiki and the surrounding cities of the region.
• Skiathos International Airport «Alexandros Papadiamantis» Skiathos International Airport ‘Alexandros Papadiamantis’ is located on the island of Skiathos (Aegean Sea). Because of the uneven terrain of the island, the airport was created by reclaiming land from the sea between Skiathos island and the smaller island of Lazareta effectively joining the two islands into one larger island. The airport’s short runway and its proximity to an adjacent public road have made it a popular destination for plane spotters, as it offers the public the ability to legally experience landing approaches and takeoffs at very close range.
